Tangodden Lighthouse
In order to reach Tangodden you need to start from Halsmoen
Halsmoen
To reach Halsmoen from the center of Rognan, follow the signs for Skipmannvik. You can choose to drive, cycle, or walk (it takes approximately 15 minutes on foot). There is parking available at a small hilltop (Halsmoen), next to the bus stop, which is about 3 meters higher than the starting point of the hike.
Tangodden
The journey to Tangodden takes you past Halsgården, where hosts offer accommodation in a historic setting, along with a small second-hand shop. After passing Halsgården, the road runs alongside the fjord for a short distance before narrowing into a smaller path. Once you exit the forest, the trail continues along the fjord and rocky cliffs. This section of the trip offers great opportunities for little ones to find driftwood and explore the area. Perhaps you’ll spot a small crab hiding under the seaweed!
The Lighthouse
The lighthouse, built in 1909, has been modernized several times since its construction. In the past, the cliffs were used for drying rockfish, but today the round rocks provide a perfect spot to take a break with coffee and a snack while enjoying the fjord views.
For those interested in fishing, feel free to bring a fishing rod and try your luck!
Tips:
Salten boasts the world's densest population of sea eagles. Nordland is home to 35% of Norway's sea eagle population and 20% of the global total. Keep an eye out for the bird with the country’s largest wingspan!
